does anyone know about these radios? my buddy has one and asked me for my opinion, but i know nothing about this model. any info would be great.

thanx, reno. i also found that info on the net. what i really want to know is if anyone has actually had any experience with it. my buddies' radio has been shelved in a barn for a number of years and he's wanting to know if it would be worth sending off to have it gone through. i think it looks fairly nice. has echo and 5 banks of channels.

ok, i bought this radio from my buddy for $10. no transmit and the channel display is out. i figure it needs about $100 worth of repairs, but then i only have $110 invested and if it performs like i think it should then that's not much money. it has the 1969 final in it. here's some pix:

I had a Formac 700 years ago when they came out! I never had a problem with it, talked VERY well, has an audio that is kind of like the old Courier Gladiators, that kind of "smooth" audio, not an audio monster BUT clear as a bell and relatively loud.
