Hey 570,

Well I guess you do have a different view of moderating forums. You see rules enforcement as babysitting. Curious. Whatever

Might want to check yourself there Shark, and probably go reread what I posted.

Editing peoples post to fit what others want or think they should be posting is babysitting. And I know myself and the other mods don't have time to do it. If you remember, this forum was opened to be more of an open forum. While yes we do have rules, we are not going run a dictatorship.

It's simple, if people break the rules it will be dealt with. If people are annoying or just being plain stupid well that's something we all have to deal with.

If you don't like what is being said in a thread or the direction the thread is headed, do what I do and don't read all or part of it.

For instance, there is this fellow over at CBRT that probably has some good knowledge that he could share but his replies are either condescending or just flat out smartass.

I no longer read or reply to his posts because I don't like his attitude. I could "give him what he gives", but that would serve no usefull purpose other than starting a flame war.

I try to follow my own guidelines on every forum but, like all human beings sometimes I put my mouth in gear before the brain has been properly engaged.

I am just an old fart trying to enjoy radio and learn all I can and share what I know. (Not much!)

I knew thats who you were referring to 151.
But I could not remember what he called himself to save my life.

The guy is kind of a jerk. And I noticed most of the time he is wrong.

Another option would to lock the thread with and explain why it has been locked then the thread can be viewed but not replied to. Jim !!
